The GMAT exam is the exam required by most business schools for admission into their MBA and PHD programs. The exam currently has four sections: Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). The Quantitative section has 31 questions, which must be completed in 62 minutes. The Verbal Section features 36 questions, which must be completed in 62 minutes. The Integrated Reasoning section has 12 questions to be completed in 30 minutes. The Analytical Writing Assessments sections has one essay, which must be completed in 30 minutes.

You can register for the exam by creating an account on the GMAC’s website at You will need to pay the exam registration fee of $250 in addition to choosing a test center and a test date.

The best way to prepare for the exam is to familiarize yourself with the content and format of the exam by reviewing as many retired GMAT questions as possible. In addition to mastering the topics covered on the exam, you will need to fine tune your approach to ensure you are properly allocating your time on each section and making the right decisions about which questions to spend your time on.
